Terms of Service
Effective September 9, 2026.
About these terms
Riffage is operated by David Diefenderfer, based in Florida, United States. These terms cover the Riffage desktop app, website and optional cloud services. Contact support@riffage.app with questions.
By using Riffage, you agree to these terms to the extent permitted by applicable law. You must be legally able to enter this agreement, or have a parent or guardian's permission where required. The online services are not intended for children under 13.
Using the app
You may install and use Riffage for your own music projects, including commercial work. The local app is free and does not require an account. You are responsible for your equipment, internet connection and any third-party plugins or files you use. Their own licenses still apply.
Riffage is currently in early access. Features may change and bugs may occur. Keep independent backups of important work. Cloud sync does not provide a version history or guarantee recovery of files that never finished uploading.
Your account
Keep your sign-in account secure and provide accurate account information. You are responsible for activity you authorize through your account. Tell us if you believe someone has gained unauthorized access.
Your music stays yours
You retain ownership of your recordings, lyrics, notes and other content. Riffage does not acquire the rights to your music.
When you upload content, you give us permission to store, copy, transmit and process it only as needed to provide and maintain the service, including backup and sharing you choose. You must have the rights needed to upload and share that content.
Members of a shared vault can access and download its content. Choose collaborators carefully. Removing access cannot recall copies they already downloaded.
Cloud plans and payment
Signing in and enabling backup gives each vault 3 GB of free cloud storage. A paid Cloud subscription belongs to one vault and adds 50 GB of storage and sharing. The owner pays; invited members do not need their own subscription to join.
The price and billing interval are shown before you subscribe. Prices on our pricing page are in US dollars. Any taxes charged are shown at checkout. Monthly and yearly subscriptions renew automatically until canceled. Promotional pricing is subject to the conditions shown with the offer.
Stripe handles payments. By subscribing, you authorize the recurring charges disclosed at checkout. Keep your billing information current. A failed payment may cause paid features to pause or the vault to return to the free allowance.
Cancellation and refunds
You can cancel renewal through Plan & billing in the app's vault settings. Cancel before the next renewal to avoid the next charge. The billing portal shows when access ends. Deleting a vault or your account also cancels the associated subscriptions and can end cloud access immediately.
Payments are generally non-refundable, including for unused time after cancellation, except where a refund is required by law. If there is a duplicate charge, billing mistake or a problem with a paid service, contact support@riffage.app so we can investigate and put it right.
These terms do not remove any mandatory cancellation, withdrawal, refund or other consumer rights you have under applicable law. Contact us to exercise those rights.
Storage limits and deletion
When a Cloud plan ends, the vault returns to the free allowance and new invitations pause. Uploads pause if it is over the limit. A vault that remains over the free limit may have its whole cloud copy deleted after 90 days and warning emails. See Your files & cloud storage for the full behavior, including what happens to local copies.
Acceptable use
Do not upload illegal content, infringe someone else's rights, harass other users, send unsolicited invitations, distribute malware, bypass storage or billing limits, or interfere with the service. Do not try to access vaults or accounts without permission.
We may restrict access or remove content when reasonably necessary to address abuse, security risks, nonpayment or legal requirements. We will explain the reason and give notice where practical and lawful. You can contact support if you believe a restriction is a mistake.
Availability and responsibility
We work to keep Riffage available, but outages, maintenance and errors can happen. To the extent permitted by law, the app and service are provided as available without a promise of uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these terms excludes liability or guarantees that cannot legally be excluded.
Privacy
The Privacy Policy explains how account information, cloud content, diagnostics and billing information are handled.
Changes and questions
We may update these terms as Riffage changes. We will publish the updated terms and effective date and provide additional notice of material changes where required. You can stop using the service and cancel renewal if you do not agree to an upcoming change. Contact support to discuss a problem before it becomes a dispute.
